Cornwall in A fair lady and passing wise
About the Yarn Base (Cornwall)
Sometimes you want a yarn that will do more – a yarn that can withstand epic battles with patterns, frogging, and cables. Cornwall is the yarn on which dream projects are built – it has amazing stitch definition, and the Bluefaced Leicester wool brings a durability Merino just can’t provide. The superwash treatment makes this a great yarn for gift knitting, too, because even though it’s strong, it’s soft enough for most projects and easy care. (Note: Hand-dyed yarn should always be hand washed in cold water for best results.)

About the Color (A fair lady and passing wise)
A bold cobalt blue, this colorway demands attention. It hints at forbidden romance with its rich, deep colors and it’s sure to tempt you to bring it home with you.
The Story Behind the Colorway Name
Uther Pendragon calls for a meeting of his lords. Duke Gorlois brings his wife with him: the lady Igraine, who is called “a fair lady and passing wise.” Uther falls in love with her and approaches her, but she tells her husband who leaves the meeting and puts her safely in the stronghold of Tintagel, while he goes off to fight Uther. Aided by Merlin, Uther is able to get into the castle disguised as the Duke and spend the night with Igraine. Meanwhile, at the battle, Gorlois is killed. This night, Arthur is conceived, and Uther and Igraine later marry.

About the Yarn from Round Table Yarns
The yarns from Round Table Yarns are dyed by hand in small dye lots so each skein receives special care and attention. Colorway names have been taken from the stories of King Arthur and the knights of the Round Table, and on the inside of each label, you can read the story of the inspiration behind the name (no story on Quest colors).
The yarn is ready to ship in a muslin project bag for safe delivery and will arrive in your mailbox in a cheerful purple mailing envelope. Your yarn typically ships within 24 hours, often on the same day you place your order.
