The Story Behind the Colorway Name
Celliwig, which means "forest grove," is a place name in Cornwall. In some of the Welsh stories, Celliwig is the name given to Arthur's court (what we think of as Camelot). It is described as a rather luxurious place, full of splendor. Scholars have tried to find the location of Celliwig, and several places within Cornwall have been put forward as possibilities. For example, focusing on the "forest grove" name, one place in Cornwall has a Latin name that translates to "the outpost of the sacred grove" so it has been linked to Celliwig. But it's also entirely possible that the place is just fictional within the story and doesn't represent a real place.
