About the Color (A passing wise lady)
A bold cobalt blue, this colorway demands attention. It hints at forbidden romance with its rich, deep colors and it’s sure to tempt you to bring it home with you.
The Story Behind the Colorway Name
Uther Pendragon calls for a meeting of his lords. Duke Gorlois brings his wife with him: the lady Igraine, who is called beautiful and “passing wise.” Uther falls in love with her and approaches her, but she tells her husband who leaves the meeting and puts her safely in the stronghold of Tintagel, while he goes off to fight Uther. Aided by Merlin, Uther is able to get into the castle disguised as the Duke and spend the night with Igraine. Meanwhile, at the battle, Gorlois is killed. This night, Arthur is conceived, and Uther and Igraine later marry.
