About the Color (Poisoned Apple)
A seemingly average red skein that knits up with sinister beauty. This delicious red is overdyed with grey and contains hints of poison (darker red spots) throughout, to give it a depth and tone that is positively wicked in the very best way.
The Story Behind the Colorway Name
After a falling out with Lancelot, Guenevere hosts a dinner for some of the knights. Gawain is well known to enjoy fruit, especially apples and pears, so she makes sure to set aside a bowl of fruit just for him. One of the other knights, who hates Gawain, conspires to poison some of the apples to kill him. One of the poisoned apples is eaten by Sir Patrice, who immediately dies of the poison. Because Guenevere provided the food and invited them there, she is accused of this poisoning by Sir Patrice’s cousin.
Guenevere’s guilt or innocence will be decided through the results of a battle between two knights, one representing her innocence and one her guilt. None of the knights who were at the dinner are willing to defend her. Ultimately, Sir Bors, Lancelot’s cousin, agrees to do so “if no better knight steps forward.” Indeed, at the trial, a “better knight” does come forward and wins the battle. Guenevere is declared innocent, and the knight is revealed to be Lancelot.

About the Yarn from Round Table Yarns
The yarns from Round Table Yarns are dyed by hand in small dye lots so each skein receives special care and attention. Colorway names have been taken from the stories of King Arthur and the knights of the Round Table, and on the inside of each label, you can read the story of the inspiration behind the name.
The yarn is ready to ship in a muslin project bag for safe delivery and will arrive in your mailbox in a cheerful purple mailing envelope. Your yarn typically ships within 24 hours, often on the same day you place your order.
