Cornwall in Uther
About the Yarn Base (Cornwall)
Sometimes you want a yarn that will do more – a yarn that can withstand epic battles with patterns, frogging, and cables. Cornwall is the yarn on which dream projects are built – it has amazing stitch definition, and the Bluefaced Leicester wool brings a durability Merino just can’t provide. The superwash treatment makes this a great yarn for gift knitting, too, because even though it’s strong, it’s soft enough for most projects and easy care. (Note: Hand-dyed yarn should always be hand washed in cold water for best results.)

About the Color (Uther)
The light, pale grey of a bearded sage, this colorway is subtle yet strong and makes for an ideal neutral. It’s a cooler grey on the pale end of the color scale.
The Story Behind the Colorway Name
King Uther fell in love with Igraine, who was already married to one of Uther's men. Gorlois, her husband, hid Igraine in the fortress of Tintagel and proceeded to fight Uther. One night, Uther disguised himself as Gorlois (through Merlin's magic) and spent the night with Igraine--this resulted in the conception of Arthur. Igraine finds out that Gorlois had been killed shortly before the disguised Uther was with her. Uther marries Igraine, but Arthur is taken away to be raised by another family and does not know the history of his parentage.

About the Yarn from Round Table Yarns
The yarns from Round Table Yarns are dyed by hand in small dye lots so each skein receives special care and attention. Colorway names have been taken from the stories of King Arthur and the knights of the Round Table, and on the inside of each label, you can read the story of the inspiration behind the name (no story on Quest colors).
