Guenevere in Beaumains
About the Yarn Base (Guenevere)
Guenevere is a yarn that begs to be made into something lacy and lightweight. The 2-ply structure plays nicely with yarn-overs and eyelets, creating a fabric that wants to remain more open and airy. The tonal quality of the color adds depth and dimension to your projects; this yarn has a few secrets, but it’s willing to share them with you.

About the Color (Beaumains)
Like gazing into a mystical pool or the eyes of a young man determined to prove himself, there’s something magical in this bold turquoise colorway. Liven up any project and bring light to the darkest of days with this enchanting blue yarn.
The Story Behind the Colorway Name
Gareth is the youngest brother of Sir Gawain. When Gareth is old enough to come to King Arthur’s court, he comes in disguise because he wants to prove his own worth instead of being known as Gawain’s little brother. So he starts off as a kitchen boy and is treated poorly by Sir Kay, the seneschal. Because Gareth is really the son of a lord and not a kitchen boy, his hands are smooth instead of roughened by work, so Kay gives him the nickname, Beaumains (“beautiful hands”). Gareth is given a quest and although he is derided as a kitchen boy along the way, he does prove his worth and become a knight.

About the Yarn from Round Table Yarns
The yarns from Round Table Yarns are dyed by hand in small dye lots so each skein receives special care and attention. Colorway names have been taken from the stories of King Arthur and the knights of the Round Table, and on the inside of each label, you can read the story of the inspiration behind the name (no story on Quest colors).
The yarn is ready to ship in a muslin project bag for safe delivery and will arrive in your mailbox in a cheerful purple mailing envelope. Your yarn typically ships within 24 hours, often on the same day you place your order.
