Isolde in Pellinore
About the Yarn Base (Isolde)
This fine, smooth, softer-than-soft yarn is like the hair of the fairest maiden or the silk from a magical spider. It manages to be both delicate and strong at the same time, thanks to its lace weight and fiber combination of Bluefaced Leicester and silk. It shines with true beauty and has a bit of a halo—beware, you may fall so in love with this base that you’re willing to battle a dragon just for the chance to knit with it.

About the Color (Pellinore)
A snake slithering through the grass. A large, leafy jungle plant. The scales of a crocodile just beneath the surface of the water. This yarn is a deep, rich green reminiscent of nature’s creations: emerald with evergreen and just a hint of golden undertones.
The Story Behind the Colorway Name
In the stories, Pellinore was most well-known for seeking the Questing Beast, a strange creature made up of parts of different creatures (snake, leopard, lion, and hart). Although it led Pellinore on many quests, the Questing part of its name actually comes from the sound its stomach made, which resembled the sound of forty hounds baying (or questing). Pellinore fathered several children, including Perceval, and killed King Lot (Gawain's father), which led Gawain to kill Pellinore.
About the Yarn from Round Table Yarns
The yarns from Round Table Yarns are dyed by hand in small dye lots so each skein receives special care and attention. Colorway names have been taken from the stories of King Arthur and the knights of the Round Table, and on the inside of each label, you can read the story of the inspiration behind the name (no story on Quest colors).
The yarn is ready to ship in a muslin project bag for safe delivery and will arrive in your mailbox in a cheerful purple mailing envelope. Your yarn typically ships within 24 hours, often on the same day you place your order.
