About the Colorway (Pellinore)
A snake slithering through the grass. A large, leafy jungle plant. The scales of a crocodile just beneath the surface of the water. This yarn is a deep, rich green reminiscent of nature’s creations: emerald with evergreen and just a hint of golden undertones.
The Story Behind the Colorway Name
In the stories, Pellinore was most well-known for seeking the Questing Beast, a strange creature made up of parts of different creatures (snake, leopard, lion, and hart). Although it led Pellinore on many quests, the Questing part of its name actually comes from the sound its stomach made, which resembled the sound of forty hounds baying (or questing). Pellinore fathered several children, including Perceval, and killed King Lot (Gawain's father), which led Gawain to kill Pellinore.

What a gorgeous shade of green! It truly looks like a tropical plant. I am so glad I bought Merlin in this color because it will knit into a beautiful pair of socks. Or maybe a pretty shawl? Whatever one knits with this yarn and color it will be gorgeous!
