The Story Behind the Colorway Name
In the forest, Balin meets with his brother Balan and Balan agrees to help with Balin's plan to defeat King Rience to get back into Arthur’s good graces. King Mark of Cornwall rides up with a group of knights, and he declares he will build a tomb in that spot for the dead couple. (Balin had killed a knight and his lady killed herself for grief.) Mark asks Balin for his name, but Balan tells Mark that he can call Balin The Knight with Two Swords.
Then Merlin arrives and prophesies about a great battle that will occur in the future at this spot between Lancelot and Tristan. Merlin also rebukes Balin for allowing the lady to kill herself. And Merlin has yet another prophecy—Balin will strike a blow to a true knight, which will bring great sorrow to three kingdoms for twelve years.
